Moving did not always feel like a huge undertaking, except for this time, when I moved here and realized that the place I came from I could no longer go back to.

I decided for the first time to document my new apartment in it's unfinished state back in July 2024, where this move felt like new beginnings.

I realized each apartment I've lived in in Pittsburgh reflected the transition that I was experiencing internally. This move to Wilkinsburg however felt entirely different. The apartment itself was the biggest and most beautiful apartment I've ever moved into; the process to get to the place was so smooth that only God could have divinely orchestrated my steps here. So, as I moved from one place to the next, the space full of boxes and the rooms still  void of the comfort that I would bring into it later, I photographed the transition and in that found my bearings and a new way to experience light in an old place.
